Timely delivery of concrete pipes for Caerleon Residential Subdivision

Date: 26-06-2023

The Project

At Cadia, we were approached by our client to assist with a construction project in Caerleon, NSW. The project involved the subdivision of a block of land for residential living. One of the critical aspects of the project was the installation of an underground drainage system, which required a substantial number of concrete pipes of varying sizes and specifications. Timely delivery of these concrete pipes was vital to maintain the construction schedule and ensure a smooth workflow.

The Challenge

The project site was in a remote area of Central NSW, far from major concrete pipe manufacturing facilities. This posed a significant logistical challenge as it meant transporting the required concrete pipes over long distances. The remote location increased the risk of delays and added costs associated with transportation. Furthermore, the construction schedule demanded a quick turnaround time for the delivery of the concrete pipes. Any delay in the delivery process could have a cascading effect on the project timeline, leading to additional costs and potential disruptions.

Our Solution

Drawing upon our extensive relationships with suppliers and strong connections within the transport industry, we were able to provide a cost-effective and efficient solution to meet the client's needs. We offered a start date that was one month quicker than our competitor, which gave our client a head start on their project.

Our concrete stormwater pipes are specifically manufactured, and factory tested to meet the standards of AS/NZS4058:2008. Made from steel-reinforced concrete, they were suitable for the project's drainage requirements. The pipes were available in various lengths and featured a rubber ring joint (RRJ). Additionally, if needed, we could provide pipes with a flush joint.

Through our well-organised logistics plan and close coordination with transport partners, we ensured the timely delivery of concrete pipes to a remote project site in Caerleon, NSW. Overcoming location challenges, we optimised delivery routes and minimised delays, maintaining a smooth workflow and avoiding disruptions. By providing cost-effective solutions with a faster start date, Cadia supported the project's execution and successfully met the construction schedule.
